The Launch

Time to Launch

Greetings Everyone,
Back in December of 2016, I made the decision to launch a blog. I wanted to provide a platform to document my path into exploring technologies and passing the knowledge I gain on my journey along to others.
By now, some of you are probably asking, "Why did it take so long to launch this project?" Like everything else in life, it is rather complicated.

The one thing I have learned is to never put all your trust your employer to do what is right and take care of you and your family.

In the end, one's job serves as a means to an end to their employer, as we are all expendable and replaceable.

I put too much trust in my former employer and was burned for my loyalty.

It has taken a long time for me to muster the strength and courage necessary to find a means of rebuilding myself as I seek closure to that chapter of my life.

It is time for me to embrace the spirit of the Phoenix and rise again from the ashes of my past and take wing as I elevate myself to pursue a brighter future.

I expect there may be some people who may wish to take shots at me and my mission to learn new things and help others along the way. Such behavior and comments are not welcome on this blog, and I will take the appropriate actions when necessary to mitigate any disruptive influences that hamper the mission of this blog.

I urge everyone to keep any discussions on a professional level. Remember, the goal of this site is to promote a positive learning environment for anyone wishing to better themselves. This isn't Facebook, so if your post belittles someone, or it is something that others may find offensive, do not waste the time of the viewers of this site or yours. The content will be removed.

Now that the formalities are out of the way, I look forward to discussing fun and educational materials that I find along my learning path, and sharing them with you the reader. I hope that you will follow me on my journey and take advantage of the opportunity to learn from one another along the way.

  2. John, I went back and read your introduction and I’m compelled to say the following. Having worked in the IT field 20 years, I’ve worked with a lot of decision makers needing training for their staff and those individuals working towards enhancing their future by means of training / certification. Please note, the higher one goes up the latter, the harder the landing. For those that know what a PLF is, you know what to do. Anyhow, point being, many decision makers are in realty several pay periods from bankruptcy only because they did not lead by example, take the courses, etc.

You mentioned Cyber John. Five years ago, this was a fairly new term. Understanding the past will help many out there make better decisions and I’ll forward to you a quick read or two John that hopefully can be shared with the masses. Robert
